For those that still follow, I'm still here :) I still visit and try to look through everyone's art, it's just been a while since dA has popped into my head.

Thanks to those who continue to view and fav my art, it's great appreciated. I'll try to submit something again someday.

Thanks,
Spencer

Glad to see you're still here. I myself haven't been on here for about a full year (Been focusing much more on writing music than visual art).

Yeah, I try to keep it to less than a year, but it gets harder all the time :D I still love this site too, which makes it harder.

Yeah I know what you mean, as life goes on I find myself having less to time to post art.

Hi Spencer, good to hear from you again =D I still see some comments of yours in my unread messages, like from the pictures I took in the Maritime provinces back in 2009. Guess it's never too late to say thank you... I actually came to your page to see if there was anything new, and quite surprised really to see this recent journal entry :) Hope everything is well.

Interesting coincidence, part of my absence has to do with moving to Nova Scotia! :D

Coincidences are a funny thing. I'm not very spiritual, but I remember my father recommending that I read the Celestine Prophecy a while back. Mind you, I'm not an avid book reader... I like reading bits and pieces here and there, but I prefer the visual arts. Then again, I learned how to write coherently (at least I think! =D) because of how much I was forced to read in school, so go figure.

Anyways, back to the Celestine Prophecy. For once, I gave it a shot on a purely voluntary basis, and it turns out I could not put the book down. It's been a few years now so I don't remember all the details, but I was most fascinated with how it approaches the topic of coincidences. Yes, it revolves around the age-old philosophy that everything happens for a reason, yet in what I thought to be in a very refreshing fashion. Where the author would rather classify coincidences as synchronicities assuming that everything is linked together in some shape or form. That everyone on a subconscious level transmits some sort of energy or frequency that others can pick up on like a radio broadcast.

Again, I'm not very spiritual, so it's more of an open question mark to me, but I find it fascinating nonetheless. If I can borrow a comical example, let's say you're checking out an attractive chick from a distance, where you could swear you're checking her out "under the radar", then all of a sudden she throws you a piercing glare as if from nowhere. That kind of reaction where you feel like you're being watched even though there's no one in your direct field of vision.

I have no idea how this is relevant to your moving to Nova Scotia, I certainly wasn't thinking "Gee, it's been a long time since I last heard from Spencer, I got a gut feeling he moved to Nova Scotia", but yeah, it's still a little odd that I used the context of comments you left a couple years ago pertaining to my trip in Nova Scotia to visit your page now.

At any rate, I hope you're doing well, it's good to hear from you again :)

Yeah its always amazing how things like that can happen. The only other time I had ever been out to Nova Scotia we were somewhat pressed for time, so we didn't end up making it to everything we wanted. One place we did get to was Lunenburg though, just for the day, a very foggy one at that. My mother has commented several times since then how funny she thinks it is that of all the places we could choose to visit, we visit the town where I'd work several years in the future. What makes it more interesting is that we didn't visit a place like Halifax, which would have been a much more likely place for me to work as software engineer.

I too am not religious, but I have to admit that life can steer you in what sometimes seems like a pretty deliberate direction :P
